Week 4!

Well, I've been here almost a month now! Time flies!

This past weekend was really fun. I met some friends at church last weekend, and we hung out after work on Friday. It's nice to finally start getting connected with new people!

On Saturday, I went to the NY Auto Show with my friend Kara. Neither of us know anything about cars... But it was fun! I have no idea what car this was... But the doors open up! And it comes with stock 25-26 inch rims! After the car show, we met up with more friends at Brother Jimmy's, a cool place by Madison Square Garden that has AMAZING Southern food. This is the official North Carolina Alum hangout, so it was a great atmosphere to watch the big UNC game Saturday night! Well, that's about it for now! Hopefully more exciting adventures are on the way soon!

Another Update!

Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since I've updated this! Life has been crazzzzzyyy!! Here's my normal day:

Get up at 7:00am
Leave by 8:00 to catch the bus

Catch the subway at 8:25

Get to work around 8:45
*** Work ***
Leave work +/- 6:30pm

Go to the gym until 7:30pm
Get home around 8:30pm

Eat dinner

TRY to get to bed by 11:30pm

So, life is great, but my schedule is insane. I really only have a couple of hours at night before I have to get up and do it again! I am officially on the EA Sports and Gatorade accounts, which I am really excited about. I've met a bunch of co-workers my age who work on other accounts, and t
hey are very welcoming and inclusive. My boss is fantastic, and I really enjoy going to work every day. I may even get to travel before too long! Here's what my building looks like (I work on the 17th floor)... Let's see... I've been lucky enough to go to Madison Square Garden the last two weekends, once to see the Knicks vs. Blazers game and once for the Big East Semifinals. It's definitely a fun place to watch games live! Life here in Hoboken in great. It's very cute and old fashioned. It's nice to come home to a peaceful, small little town. Here's what the city looks like. The view of my itty bitty room... Overall, all is well! I'll try to update this again more frequently. Bye for now.

Update!

So much has happened this week!

I flew into Newark on Monday morning. (I experienced my first red-eye flight. Yay). I've spent all week going back and forth to Target, trying to get my 8' x 12' room set up as functionally as possible. (Which was do-able, but expensive... What can ya do?)

I ventured into the city on Wednesday to sign some papers at work. (I don't start working until Monday, March 10th). Fortunately, my commute is VERY easy. The bus stops a block from our front door, and it's a short 10 minute bus ride into the city. (Via the Lincoln Tunnel). Then, when we arrive at Port Authority, I simple walk downstairs and take a 10-minute subway ride to Midtown, and I have to walk a whole 1.5 blocks to the NBA Headquarters!

Travelling in Hoboken isn't too bad. I took the bus to Target for only $2 each way, while a taxi ride is about $8 each way. Taking the bus here isn't sketchy at all. EVERYONE is in very corporate attire with fancy wool coats. (Not exactly your daily bus-ride on LTD in Eugene).

This afternoon I heard sirens and looked out my window to discover that the apartment building next to mine was on fire. About 7-8 firetrucks arrived, and they shut down the street. It doesn't appear that any huge damage was done, but it was weird seeing smoking pouring out of windows on the 3rd floor.

Well, that's about it for now! Feel free to post comments, just to say hi!

(Here's the view of NYC from Hoboken! Also, if you walk 1.5 blocks from my front door, you can see the entire Empire State Building at night! It's amazing!)

Welcome to My Blog!

Alright, here's your ticket to more than you ever wanted to know about my move to the Big Apple!

I'll use this blog to keep everyone updated on life in NYC! Since I'm living just across the Hudson River in Hoboken, NJ, I'm bound to have some interesting stories from life in both NY and NJ.

Our Internet isn't set up yet, so I'm having to walk to a local cafe to use their Wi-Fi until we get it set up. Once we do, I will post pics of our cute little apartment!

Talk to you soon!
